Descartes Aljex Launches MyCarrierPackets Integration

Improved vetting system for carriers to verify profiles, sign

contracts & complete forms

WATERLOO, Ontario, Month XX, 2018 — Descartes Systems Group (Nasdaq:DSGX) (TSX:DSG), the global leader in uniting logistics-intensive businesses in commerce, announced that the Descartes Aljex™ transportation management system (TMS) is fully integrated with Assure Assist’s MyCarrierPackets to simplify the vetting process for carrier onboarding.

“Jay’s team at MyCarrierPackets went over the top with getting us set up quickly and making sure everything integrated seamlessly with our Descartes Aljex TMS. We are extremely satisfied with the affordable product and the first-rate, hands-on customer service we have received. The ability to set carriers up in less than 5 minutes is a game changer for our team. I would highly recommend MyCarrierPackets to any brokerage,” said McGehee Talor, Vice President of Sales and Logistics at Magnolia Express Logistics, Inc.

MyCarrierPackets is a unique online service where invited carriers are directed to a customized online packet webpage where they enter or verify their profile information, agree to contracts and complete electronic W9/W8 forms. All parties, including the corporate office provided by the FMCSA, are notified once each carrier completes a packet for each customer.

The solution also provides freight brokers with an extra layer of security. When a new carrier is set up in a freight brokerage system, the relationship has potential to pose a risk to the business, especially if the carrier has not been fully vetted. When a carrier is trying to accept a load for the first time, that carrier may have already had an identity theft situation with another MyCarrierPackets customer. If the incident has been reported to, the carrier is flagged before any work is initiated.

Descartes Aljex has served freight brokers and transportation providers for over 20 years. Backed by deep domain expertise, the robust solution is used by nearly 400 customers in North America to plan and execute nearly 3 million freight moves per year.

“We’re pleased that the integrated solution is expediting the process of setting up carriers for our customers,” said Tom Heine at Descartes. “The ability to have a carrier prequalified with a completed packet added to Aljex in as little as 5 minutes will help brokers to decrease costs, improve efficiency and mitigate business risk.”
